Taizé at St. Columba’s

We hold a service of worship in the style of the Taizé Community on the third Sunday of each month at St. Columba’s.

Taize Service Candles

At the heart of a Taizé service is meditative prayer and singing. Taizé songs are short songs, repeated over and over again. With just a few words, they express a basic reality of faith, which gradually penetrates the whole being as the words are sung many times. During the service there is a long period of silence to help quieten the mind and soul to focus on God.

More information about Taizé worship and the Taizé Community can be found on the Taizé Community website.

The next Taizé service will be held on Sunday 20th April at St. Columba’s at 8.00 p.m. All welcome.
