Our Building

The Church was constructed in 1846–1847, and is a Category B listed building. The striking mural on the east wall of the chancel is ‘Christ Enthroned’ painted by John Busby (a former member) in 1959. The Organ is by James Connacher and Sons (1880). The whole building was extensively upgraded and refurbished between 1998-99 and has continued to be well maintained.

Hall DancingThe Church Hall is situated beneath the church; the hall and associated facilities can be reached by stair or lift. Apart from our use, it is used as a convenient and pleasant place for community and commercial lets.

During the month of August the space is magically transformed into Festival Fringe Venue 4 – we were the fourth building in Edinburgh to host Fringe Shows back in the very early 1950s and have continued to hold performances ever since. We have a long-standing arrangement with C-Venues, who let the Hall and run a range of children’s shows as well as other theatrical events.

The Terrace Garden is a south facing, sheltered space much appreciated by everyone who uses it.
