St. Columba’s-by-the-Castle

Alan Grieve took over from Janet Ingham as Sacristan in 1994. Alan has been a much-loved and resourceful Sacristan overseeing the new Sanctuary lamp and generally keeping the Sacristy in good order in spite of the best efforts of all the clergy, servers and flower arrangers to create a muddle! Alan handed over the Sacristy key to Joan Richardson, our new Sacristan,  on Sunday 2 August 2009. He was presented with an engraved whisky decanter on behalf of the Rector and Clergy.
